Tupton Carnival 2018

 

This year's Parade will leave from Tupton Hall School at midday to arrive at the Rugby site at 1pm following the same route as last year - There will be at least 30 vehicles in the parade plus other groups who have entered as walking participants.

The parade co-ordinator is Brian Wakefield who can be contacted on brianwakefield1@hotmail.co.uk - anyone who wishes to participate in the parade whether vehicles, walking or a vehicle float are welcome but please register with Brian by 9 July 2018 to ensure you have a place in the field. Floats to be in theme or will not be judged.

The carnival officially opens from 1pm once the Parade arrives and the Carnival Queen is crowned. There will also be a static vehicle display area.

Dako Flying Angels

Fire Eaters

Primary Colours

Silverbirds Marching Band

African Drum Display

and Team Falchion - 14th century Medieval Re-enactors they will have a static display as well as doing two combats in the arena. 

There is no charge for Carnival entry - it is Free to all to enter.  You can also meet the animals (exotic variety) for free & have your Facepainted & a balloon made by the balloon artist for free. All arena entertainment is free to watch. 

There will also be a fairground area, a food court with a range of different foods to try, ice cream etc. around 20 stalls, Birds of Prey, Photos of Tupton (courtesy of Colin Smith), have a ride on a pony, the Rugby Club are also opening their bar and facilities for which  money will be needed. Watch a demonstration of wool spinning and listen to a barrel organ.
